Your team just survived the Great Raya Food Coma, and now they’re back in the office, staring blankly at their computers, wondering what on earth they do for a living. Ring a bell? That’s post-Raya syndrome again.
So, what’s the cure? Flat-out chaos disguised as team-building.
Here are five fun activities that will have everyone suddenly shaken out of their coma.
1. The Office Hunger Games (But Make It Raya)
The Setup: Hide envelopes around the office, each with a task. Some are easy, some are close to being evil.
The Challenge: Do tasks in a bid to “survive” and claim victory.
Sample Tasks:
“Go locate a kuih lapis and consume it layer by layer without hands.”
“Have the boss concur to let you borrow their chair for 10 minutes.”
“Read your previous work email out loud dramatically like a soap opera star.”
How to Win: The last standing contestant (or the most disorganized one) wins a Golden Ketupat Trophy and office-wide bragging rights.
2. Raya Ninja Warrior: The Obstacle Course

The Setup: Transform the office into an obstacle course using random objects (chairs, boxes, whatever you can find).
The Challenge: Teams must complete ridiculous Raya-themed physical and mental challenges.
Obstacles Might Include:
“Balancing the Last Kuih” by walking across a room balancing a kuih on a spoon in your mouth.
“Speed Sampul Raya” by folding and organize five Raya envelopes correctly within 30 seconds.
“Boss is Coming!” by hiding under a desk before the fake boss (one wearing a suit and sunglasses) catches you sleeping.
Winning Conditions: First team to finish wins and receives an additional 30-minute nap pass.
3. The Raya Stock Market (A Pretend Business Game That Will Get Rowdy)
The Setup: Everyone starts with 10 pretend RM notes. Throughout the day, employees must barter, hustle, or bet their way to wealth.
How It Works:
- Shout out random stock market events every hour (e.g., “Rendang prices plummet!” or “Bubble tea is the new money!”).
- Employees can form alliances, start mini-businesses (like selling coffee or taking daft challenges for money), or bribe HR with payback cash (it’s all fake money; calm down).
Winning: Whoever has the most money at the end wins a ‘pay raise’.
4. Raya’s Next Top Influencer Challenge

The Setup: Teams need to create the most viral Raya-themed video on their mobiles within 30 minutes.
The Challenge:
“POV: Back at work after Raya.”
“Kinds of colleagues you see when you return from a long leave.”
“Trying to diet after Raya be like…”
Bonus Points: Having the boss participate in the video, having cringe-worthy TikTok trends involved, or involving a real-life stranger.
Winning: The most watched video (likes, comments, or laughs by colleagues) wins a surprise award.
5. The Raya Heist: Filching Back Your Productivity

The Premise: Half escape room, half Ocean’s Eleven, but instead of executing a heist, your mission is to “steal” back the productivity of your lost team.
The Challenge:
- Solve a sequence of strange riddles placed across the office.
- Sneak into the “secret vault of HR” (a locked drawer) and take the Sacred Productivity Document (it’s just a blank sheet of paper, but they don’t know that).
- Crack corporate buzzwords (e.g., what does “synergy” really mean?) before time runs out.
Winning Strategy: The first team to complete the mission gets to clock out 30 minutes early, because let’s be real, that’s the ultimate reward.
Last Thoughts
Ditch those boring PowerPoint sessions. If your employees aren’t screaming, cackling, or plotting corporate coups on the final leg of these games, you’re doing it all wrong.
